Joseph HowellHello <<First Name>>,

Happy New Year! We are back to our regular schedule in the new year: our monthly breakfast will be on January 21. RSVP today! And if you've got new year's resolutions, we've got you covered with the Healthy, Happy New Year Out & About Mixer on the 29th.

As some of you already know, the new year comes with a new administrator for the Chamber. Jane Kaskel has moved on to a much-deserved retirement, and Melanie Cooley has stepped in to fill Jane's big shoes. Melanie has lived in Tucson since 1990 and has worked at the UA in information technology for eight years. She's a member of the All Souls Procession organizing non-profit and is working on a teaching certification in 5Rhythms movement meditation. Please join me in wishing Jane well and in welcoming Melanie to the Chamber!Melanie Cooley

Chamber News

This past December, our community lost two members who have contributed greatly to the Chamber and to Tucson's GLBT community.

Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of Mae Krueger and Douglas Newman

Mae KruegerMae and her wife Gerry built the Access database that the Chamber uses to this day. Mae was very active with Desert Voices and the Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild, and her voice and energy will be missed.

Douglas Newman served as the Chamber's lawyer and was known for his engagement with the community and work with students at the UA's James E. Rogers College of Law.

They will both be missed.

Get Involved

You've got skills and your community needs them! Join one of our special committees to meet new contacts and help the Chamber grow. Volunteer positions are open in Membership, Advocacy, Special Events, Programs, & Marketing. For more info, call the Chamber office at 520-615-6436 or send us an email.

Or if no meetings is more your speed and you enjoy dabbling in marketing and social media, contact Marylee Pangman and get started right away as a marketing volunteer! Even an hour a week will be a huge service to your organization.
