CFUW Launches New Public Website!

CFUW National has officially launched its new public website! Check it out at http://www.cfuw.org. We would like to thank Osamu Wakabayashi of Zen Designs for his wonderful redesigning of both the public and member services website. To access the member services site from the main website, it can be found in the top right corner of the page.

Fundraising During COVID-19

Due to COVID-19 CFUW Clubs have had to get creative in finding ways to raise funds for their Clubs charitable initiatives. We have compiled a list on the different things Clubs are doing to fundraise, to help inspire you to find new ways to gather funds.  If you would like to contribute to the list please email Rachel at cfuwgen@rogers.com.

A National Kitchen Table Talk for Community and Well Being
The National Kitchen Table Talk for Community and Wellbeing will take place on November 26 from 5 to 7.p.m. eastern time. Let’s get together to talk about what we have in common, our work towards our community and wellbeing  goals and how we can help each other by learning from each other some strategies, tactics or generating ideas for common events and tools. See the poster here for more information. Join the meeting here. This is co-sponsored by VP Education and VP Advocacy.
WANTED:
Administrators for a Public Group Facebook Page

CFUW is looking for 5-7 interested and dedicated Facebook fans who like our discussion page to administer this site for the next two years.  This involves one day a week of about 1-2 hours, to review content, edit posts that are not suitable according to the published rules and find new content to post.  If you enjoy social media, this project is for you. The national Communications Committee is looking for you. We thank Doris Mae Oulton who established this Facebook site and kept it running for these years for her many hours of diligent effort and scrutiny.  The 1100+ followers in this group are a treasure and we would like to maintain the site to the same high standards that Doris Mae has held.  For more information about this project - click here.

Reminder to Submit Club Membership Numbers by
November 18, 2020
In order for GWI to send CFUW the invoice for our 2021 membership dues, they require the number of members that each Club has and we must send the total number to them by November 22. To this end, we are asking Clubs to register the number of members by November 18, 2020 by going to the CFUW Membership Website at www.cfuwmembership.org. You may log in using your Club's unique username and password. Once you are in the site, go to the "Clubs" header and click on “Enter Club Membership”. This will bring you to the page for your Club. Under your Club name, there is a title” Current Fiscal Year Membership”. Below that line, there is a button that says “edit”. Click on the edit button and that will allow you to enter the number of members and students that you have for the fiscal year 2020-2021. The number you will enter will be the number registered by your club as of the date in November, 2020. (Your numbers can be revised in January, 2020 if necessary.) Once this step is completed, please email Rachel Deneault at cfuwgen@rogers.com to let her know that you have inserted the update. It is important that we receive your notification so that we can keep track of the changes.

If you encounter any issues logging in, recording your information, or if you do not have your username/password, please contact Rachel Deneault for assistance at cfuwgen@rogers.com or at (613) 234-8252 ext.101 or 1-888-220-9606 (toll-free).
Closed Captioning on Zoom
If you have members who require close captioning during online Zoom presentations, there is a feature that can help you do so. By enabling the settings on Zoom, you will have the option to write out what is being said during the meeting and those words will appear on the screen for all of your members! For a step-by-step guide on how to perform these steps, click here. Email Rachel at cfuwgen@rogers.com if you require any assistance.
