It’s Trinity Sunday! This is an opportunity to explore a sometimes thought provoking, sometimes confusing, mysterious but beautiful doctrine of our faith. Jesus’ words in the Gospel reading this Sunday give us an image of the three persons of the Trinity as he speaks of himself, the Spirit and the Father. The Trinity is about relationship; The Trinity is imaginative and creative; The Trinity is the model for a way of life where we guide one another and declare the goodness and glory of God to one another.
However, I am at St. Paul’s this Sunday as a Camp Director! So I am here to share with you the story of Camp Medley, the importance of this ministry in the Diocese and the good news of our summer season that is quickly approaching. But guess what? Camping Ministry is also about relationship; Camping Ministry calls us to be imaginative and creative; Camping Ministry calls our Medley leaders to guide and declare the goodness and glory of God to children and youth through their actions, words and work. I think Trinity Sunday gives us a wonderful context to discover camping ministry!
I know many of you have probably gotten to experience Camp Medley in some way, shape of form, and thank-you for the ways that you as a congregation have supported us already. I’m looking forward to spending Sunday morning with you!
