It’s my pleasure to introduce you to INHERIT (INter-sectoral Health and Environment Research for InnovaTion) and to welcome you to this first newsletter. INHERIT is our new, ambitious, Horizon2020 research project (2016-2019) of a EuroHealthNet-led consortium of 18 well-established organisations with experts from a range of disciplines (public health, environment, economics, technology, social sciences, psychology, behaviour-change, sustainable consumption and media) and from across Europe.

OUR WORK: LITERATURE REVIEW

The INHERIT project is driven by the quest to find the policies, practices and innovations that are helping to foster healthier and more sustainable lifestyles and behaviours. As part of our research, our literature review brings together existing knowledge of the main environmental stressors and their impact on health across the social gradient in the field of living, moving and consuming.

INTERESTED IN WHAT THE EU IS DOING TO HELP ACHIEVE THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS?

The United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) or the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development were adopted on September 2015. The 17 Goals and 169 targets which aim to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all, balance the three dimensions of sustainable development: the economic, social and environmental.
