Happy New Year!
Everyone's talking about creating new habits for the New Year and one of mine is staying in better touch with you! So, I plan to use this eNewsletter to help demystify the things we go over in class, remind you that you are beautiful, and keep you posted about workshops and retreats that can deepen your Pilates practice.
OPEN YOUR HEART IN WINTER
Below, we'll start with a video that can help you keep your heart open despite raging winds, freezing temperatures and crowded subways this winter. It's easy to hunch over and try to disappear, but this heart-opener on the foam roller will have you breathing better in no time, AND it works your lower abs and helps your posture. Check it out!
Do you have a ROLL UP RESOLUTION ? The roll up can be tough because it's about more than just strength; it's about control, body proportions, flexibility and breathing. It's okay to bend your knees if you have trouble articulating through the lower back. Doing so will ease the strain on the hamstrings and give you more mobility through the lumbar spine. You can use your hands to walk up to seated. Give it a try!
Stay warm, open your heart, be brave, and keep moving!
