The LACOL 2022 Workshop Steering Committee is delighted to share highlights and a report from the LACOL 2022 Consortium-wide Workshop hosted by Davidson College on their beautiful campus, June 2-3, 2022. The Workshop Overview (p. 2) and the Outcomes and Recommendations section (pp. 10-11) summarize key findings. Check out the program abstracts, workshop resource page, and full report for more details.
The workshop theme, Beyond the Pandemic: Building Equitable and Anti-Racist Communities, invited colleagues from all across LACOL, and very special guests, to connect around strategies, actions, and lessons learned toward building more equitable, accessible, and antiracist communities. The theme resonated with speakers and participants alike. Perspectives were explored in dialogue with current campus priorities, and with an eye on opportunities to collaborate together for further progress.
The narrative comments from workshop participants give the most direct read-out on the energy of the workshop, what people found to be most meaningful, and what could happen next. Thanks to the talents and generosity of our faculty, staff and student presenters, the event support team, and all the amazing participants, the workshop was a big success!
