Shrimp boil and cookout, June 27 -

Let's top off a fun day with homemade ice cream

Nothing like bonding over a friendly competition, especially when it involves something as sweet as homemade ice cream. Bring a batch of your favorite recipe to the Greet & Eat Shrimp Boil and Cookout on Sunday, June 27.

No need to sign up. Just bring it to the designated ice cream table by noon. All entries must be made from scratch by the participant (not transferred from a Blue Bell container). Judges will decide the winner of bragging rights and "prestigious" award.

This Crosspoint family meal will start at noon, following the last church service, and include a shrimp boil, hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks and homemade ice cream!

Registration is free, but needed for planning purposes. If you would like to help with serving food or general setup after the early service, email Tracy Yanez  or Jeff Simmons.

Camp Create canned food goes to feed homeless

As part of the annual Camp Create competition between boys and girls, Crosspoint's kids donated two truck loads of canned goods, which were delivered this week to Feed My Sheep in Gulfport.

David Lion, board chairman of the nonprofit, sent a big thanks to the kids for the incredible food drive. "This food will go a long way in feeding the homeless and less fortunate in the Gulfport area. Feed My Sheep is currently serving over 600 meals a day. We could not do this without the kids' support."

Crosspointers Vince Lenaz and Pete Yanez, who also volunteer at Feed My Sheep by delivering meals to homebound, filled each of their trucks with the Camp Create goods and took them to Feed My Sheep.

Feed My Sheep is a faith based program dedicated to providing nourishment to the homeless, homebound and needy of the Gulfport area.

Still time to sign up for summer women's bible study

Crosspoint's Women's Ministry will be hosting a summer Bible study from June 23 to July 21, with optional ways to participate.

The 5-week study, using Jen Wilkin's "Women of the Word: How to Study the Bible with Both Our Hearts and Our Minds," will be led by Heather Cagna and Cheri Kozar. In-person meetings will be held at the church each Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m., with a Google classroom study area, facilitated by Monica Triplett.

The cost of the study guide is $11. Childcare will be provided each Wednesday. Registration is required for in-person and online formats.
