A Duke Energy Site Readiness Study is underway on the
“Pike 75 Logistics Center” in Wildwood
Duke Energy and Sumter County Economic Development are partnering on a Site Readiness Study for the Pike 75 Industrial property to assess, improve, and increase awareness of the property. The program includes an initial assessment of the site from the top national site selection consulting firm, McCallum Sweeney Consulting. An RFI (Request for Information) and site visit were completed this month as part of the assessment process. McCallum Sweeney evaluated the quality of the RFI submittal and site visit, which will be included in a final report at the conclusion of the program in September. The final report will also include a detailed “buildable area” assessment and development of conceptual plans for the site by Heidt Design, a planning and engineering firm.
To date, 29 large projects have been won on sites evaluated through the Duke Energy Site Readiness Program, resulting in approximately 5,600 jobs and $6.3 Billion in capital investment. Many of the sites have been or are in process of being developed into active industrial parks. The program has been recognized by numerous economic development organizations and national publications including Site Selection Magazine and Area Development Magazine.
