We are sixteen days into our school year and school is just humming along! I am so proud of our students and staff as we continue to do those practices that keep us safe in school. By now we should be able to repeat the 3 W’s by heart; Wear your mask, Wash or sanitize those hands, and Watch your distance. Of course, the addition of pool testing is the measure that keeps kids in school if they happen to be a close contact. If you have not signed up your child, here is the information you will need. Families - Concentric by Ginkgo. To register your child, please complete the short consent form found at: https://testcenter.concentricbyginkgo.com/minor-consent
Use Pemetic's code : LW38US- You can also access information and sign up from the Pemetic School website at this link . I would encourage you to call either myself or Nurse Brittany if you would like more information to help you make a decision. We are more than happy to talk with you.
I have been enjoying stopping into classrooms asking students about their learning. I had the opportunity to play a counting game with first graders and learned about why we study history in 6th-grade social studies class. These experiences are helping me get to know our school community. I am really looking forward to getting into band classes as we work to reinvigorate our program. Area schools are waiting on the delivery of special covers for our wind instruments. Even instruments need a mask to be safe!
Please note that the X-Country meet has been moved to Thursday, September 30th. It is still at MDIHS at 4pm. Girls run first. The Soccer game scheduled has also been rescheduled. That will happen on September 20th.
This weekend is the start of fall, and I hope you all have a safe and pleasant weekend.

This year there is a slight change to how students Enter and Exit the Pemetic School.

Front Door - Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade
Music/Gym Doors - 6th, 7th, and 8th
Students will be dismissed through the same exits for dismissal. If you are planning on picking up your child, please be sure to call the office ahead of time at 244-5502. If you already shared through the survey that you are always picking your child up, the office already has that information.
On September 7th we will start pooled testing. I will need parental consent for pooled testing and also rapid testing consent for follow up using BinaxNow. Links for consents can be found on the school website. Pooled testing will be every Tuesday weekly. Students will swab their own noses with instruction. Please be aware that physicals are required for grades 5-8 if participating in any extra-curricular school activities if a physical was not done last year. Call, text or email with any questions!
