Hello Pemetic Families,

I believe spring is here to stay! I invite you to take a moment to look at all the beautiful flowers that are blooming outside of our building. Many classes are scheduling class trips and excursions to a variety of places, please make sure your child has a coat if needed.

There are still lots of days left and lots to learn before summer vacation, though I am not always sure the kids would agree.  Remember to be patient with each other. Everyone is doing their best.

Don’t forget to sign your child up for summer school if you are interested. It will run from 1-4 weeks and is a full day. It will be island wide and held at Trenton Elementary School. Students will be transported to and from Pemetic and it is for students going into 1st through 6th grade.

Here is the link for the AOS 91 Summer School registration form. Embedded in the form you will see the parent letter that outlines the programming for students entering 1st-6th grade in the fall. It also provides information for students who participate in ESY (extended school year) through special education. Information for grade 5-8 students is shared in this form, but students won't register for these opportunities until May.

The tents are not back yet, but I hope they will be soon!

Kim Schroeder in grade 5 has 6 baby chickens, two or three different breeds. They are fun to watch and students have already started to impress me with their chicken knowledge.

Congratulations to Lacey Schlag who is a recipient of the Rotary Golden Apple Award this year. Teachers are nominated yearly from across the island.

Stay tuned for information on the Scholastic book fair! It will be held in the library this year and as soon as we have information, I’ll let you know.

The Learning Lab is up and running! Monday-Friday from 7:30-8:00 am in Kim Schroeder’s room. Any students grades 4-8 needing extra help are welcome to attend. They just need to come in the front door and sign in.

COVID protocols: We follow the guidelines set by the district, as we are all in this together. If things change, as soon as we know, we will get that information out to parents and students.

My door is always open to parents, staff and students for whatever they may need. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Have a great week,

Michele Gurtler

Yearbooks have been ordered! They should be here at the end of May and are packed so tightly with photos and video links that if I added one single more, it would burst. If you still would like to order one, you can order online HERE, or fill our a paper form HERE and send it to school with your payment attached. Yearbooks are now $16.

Thank you to everyone who has already purchased! This has been an awesome year, and I'm excited to relive it through this years' yearbook.

Monday, May 30th No School in Observance of Memorial Day

Hi Families,

Please remember to have your child’s doctors office fax me any well-child checks being done so I can update medical charts. You should have received a letter if your child needs immunizations for the upcoming year.  No student can attend schools until immunization requirements are met.  If you have any questions about immunizations please call or email me.  Also a reminder that a recent physical is required for any student that wants to participate in extracurricular activities. I need a copy of this in order for them to be able to participate.   Doctor’s offices are booking fast so making an appointment well in advance is ideal.

As always, call me with any questions/concerns.
