Hello Pemetic Families,

We have made it through another week. (11 school days to go!)

Remember that Monday is Memorial Day and no school.

The Southwest Harbor Memorial Day Parade is back! Monday, May 30, beginning at 9:00 at the Southwest Shops area. Band students in grades 5-8 will perform in the parade. Parents, please bring your child to the music room between 8:00 and 8:20 and WAIT for them while they get their music shirts, instrument (leave the case in the music room), and music, then bring them to the Southwest Shops (florist, Quietside Cafe). The parade and then the ceremony at the village green will last approximately one hour. After the event, band students return to the music room to return their instruments and music shirts.

Masks are still on for yet another week. ( Mr. Z will keep us up to date on the Maine DOE guidelines.)

Pennies for Puppies!!! The Darlings Ice Cream Truck will be visiting us on the last day of school and handing out ice cream to all of the children for free. They do this as a fundraiser for a local charity. We are collecting spare change to go to the SPCA. The PTO has also donated $100 to get us started! Let’s shake out those couch cushions and bring in the spare change you find.

There are a lot of class trips between now and the end, please make sure your child has the appropriate clothing.

The Scholastic Book Fair will be held in the library this year from Tuesday, May  31st- Thursday June 2nd. Books can be purchased throughout the day and wish lists will be developed by the students and their teachers. One can never have too many books!

We had a fire drill today and everyone did beautifully. We will be having one next Tuesday and one the following week.
