Hello Pemetic Families,

What a great week we had! We had two student finalists go to the Island Wide Speech Competition, our 6-8th graders did a trip to the trampoline park and we had the high school Show Choir come to perform for the 7th & 8th grade. The 3rd graders “ fooled me” on April Fool’s Day, I got to help out in the kitchen and there are chicken eggs in an incubator, in Mrs Schroeder’s 5th grade classroom. I have named one Eddie and have hopes that it will hatch.

We still have a lot of belly issues going around. Please feel free to call Nurse Brittany if you have any questions or concerns. As to Covid, we will continue to follow the CDC recommendations in order to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Snacks: Middle school parents…the middle schoolers are hungry ( as they eat lunch early in the day )  and tend to lose steam towards the end of the day. If you would like to send some snacks for your student to keep in their lockers for an afternoon “ pick me up” that would be great. I have spoken to Reiley in the kitchen, who will also send up some afternoon snacks for the 6-8th graders.

Fun Friday: We are going to do Fun Fridays on the first Friday of the month. So the next one will be May 6th and grade 4 will be deciding what we will do. Stay tuned.

The Learning Lab is up and running! Monday-Friday from 7:30-8:00 am in Kim Schroeder’s room. Any students grades 4-8 needing extra help are welcome to attend. They just need to come in the front door and sign in.

High School sign ups…..Mr. Carignan from the high school will be meeting with the 8th graders remotely next week. Parents are welcome to attend in the conference room with their student or remotely, whatever works best for everyone. If you do not remember when you signed up, please call Renee in the Main Office, 244-5502.

COVID protocols: We follow the guidelines set by the district, as we are all in this together. If things change, as soon as we know, we will get that information out to parents and students.  If you are not in pool testing, but would like to be, please reach out to Nurse Brittany.

My door is always open to parents, staff and students for whatever they may need. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Have a great week,

Hi Families,

Hi Families!

Please remember to have your child’s doctors office fax me any well-child checks being done so I can update medical charts. You should have received a letter if your child needs immunizations for the upcoming year.  No student can attend schools until immunization requirements are met.  If you have any questions about immunizations please call or email me.  Also a reminder that a recent physical is required for any student that wants to participate in extracurricular activities. I need a copy of this in order for them to be able to participate.   Doctor’s offices are booking fast so making an appointment well in advance is ideal.

As always, call me with any questions/concerns.

-Brittany, School Nurse

Please be aware that the menus are planned ahead, but like everywhere, there are unexpected shortages and supply issues that interfere with best laid plans.

We appreciate your understanding that meals may unexpectedly change and apologize for any inconvenience.

Maybe during these uncertain times, packing some extra, healthy snacks may help with an unanticipated change in lunch.

Greetings Middle School Families,

Thank you all again for lending us your children on Wednesday. I trust they had an amazing time at the trampoline park. We got a lot of pictures of all the hijinx and tomfoolery. I hope to have a few pictures in the next Pemetic Student Newspaper for Bonnie and in the yearbook.

Just a reminder that pizzas will be arriving next Thursday at 12:30pm. They must be picked up that day. They will only last a number of hours before they need to be refrigerated again. Amanda and I will be at the school until 5pm. If you need to come earlier in the school day, just let us know.

Have a fantastic weekend!

Sincerely,
Michael Newman
