Parents, please remember that your child needs to wear a mask on the school bus and here at school. Please provide these masks for your child, we have had a lot of students asking for disposable masks. Also don't forget to pack a water bottle for your child as well. We do not have any water bottles at school this year.

From Tony McKim
The First Season of AYS basketball season is fast approaching and I have some very important announcements, and I apologize in advance for the short notice.
As you will recall we from my previous email below, we play in the Eastern Maine Basketball League (EMBL) for our First Season of AYS basketball. This requires that we have a placement day. We will be having that placement day this THIS SUNDAY, OCTOBER 17th, STARTING AT 12:00PM AT THE TRENTON SCHOOL GYM. Here is the schedule:
3rd and 4th grade girls from 12:00pm-12:30pm
3rd and 4th grade boys from 12:30pm-1:00pm
5th-6th grade girls from 1:00pm-1:30pm
5th-6th grade boys from 1:30pm-2:00pm
7th-8th grade girls from 2:00-2:30pm
7th-8th grade boys from 2:30-3:00pm
I deeply apologize for the short notice. It was unavoidable given the schedule of deliverables I have received from EMBL. If you know of a child not on this email stream, or if you cannot make it Sunday, just email me back and let me know. Numbers of teams will be dictated by the turnout we have, etc.
COVID Protocols will be in full force:
Your child must be masked
No spectators in the building, you must wait for your child in your vehicle or outside the building
We will enter through the main gym entrance, and exit through a side exit, there will be a volunteer to guide you
We are looking for volunteer coaches at every grade level for these teams. If you Coach your child does not have to pay the entry fee!
Picture Retake day will be November 18th
On September 7th we will start pooled testing. I will need parental consent for pooled testing and also rapid testing consent for follow up using BinaxNow. Links for consents can be found on the school website. Pooled testing will be every Tuesday weekly. Students will swab their own noses with instruction. Please be aware that physicals are required for grades 5-8 if participating in any extra-curricular school activities if a physical was not done last year. Call, text or email with any questions!
