Kent County Road Commission managing director Steven A. Warren elected president of statewide road association

Lansing, MI – Kent County Road Commission (KCRC)  managing director Steven A. Warren was elected president  of the County Road Association  of Michigan (CRA) at the  organization’s 2017 Highway Conference.

“I have been an active member of CRA for 28 years and  have watched as CRA has grown to become the vital  champion it is today, advocating relentlessly for all county  road agencies throughout Michigan,” said Warren, who has  overseen the operations of KCRC since 2013. “As the  unifying voice of these organizations, CRA campaigns for the  principles upon which we can best serve our communities.”

“As president of CRA, I look forward to continuing that commitment as we  continue to advocate for the safety of our constituents and employees,  educate legislators about road agency challenges and the consequences of inadequate funding, work to protect public right-of-way, and collaborate among road commissions to innovate, explore and share best practices,” Warren said.

In addition to his leadership at KCRC, Warren was a founding member of the statewide Transportation Asset Management Council (TAMC) that encourages tracking and rating Michigan’s road infrastructure.

Prior to joining Kent County Road Commission as managing director, Warren served as director of the Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization for the Grand Rapids area. He also worked in Traverse City with the Northwest Regional Planning Committee. He holds both his master’s and bachelor’s from Michigan State University.
