Springing into Spring!

Let's build Self Awareness in April


How aware are you?

Can you write down everything you ate today? How about what one of your coworkers was wearing today? What about how long you've been sitting down?

This month we'd like to challenge you to raise your awareness. We're not saying you need to pay attention to every detail of your day but you should pick a certain part of your life that you may feel is being neglected and focus on that.

Some examples can be:
  • How many positive thoughts do you have for each negative thought?
  • How much water are you drinking each day?
  • How do you feel after eating certain types of food? What about at certain times?
  • What muscles are you using while you exercise? Do you know what muscles you should be using?
  • How often do you notice other people around you, look them in the eyes and smile? 
  • How much sleep are you really getting? 
  • What kind of emotions come up when you see or talk to certain people? How are they improving or detracting from your life?

Pick one of the above topics or create your own and share it with us (via social media, email, or in class). We'll help keep you accountable and cheer you on!

New Session Starts on 4/4 - 5/13


One minor change for this next session, we are getting rid of the free "Back to the Basics" week and instead going directly into our next session. The good news is if you have a friend you want to bring to class, their first week is FREE! All they have to do is email Alex and he'll set them up.

Q: What would you bring with you if you were stranded on a deserted island?

A: 1) Some matches to start a fire so I could cook yummy, healthy tropical meals 
2) Some music to dance around to
3) A machete to open all the coconuts for fresh coconut water, my favorite drink (see secret talents question in profile)!

Our next clinic is Trails and Ultras on April 27th @ 7pm. This clinic will cover how to transition from roads onto trails. We'll go over trailing running techniques on the trials in the Presidio then head back to the store to chat about ultra marathons. Tailwind will have samples to try and A Runner's Mind will have examples of trail shoes to try on. The clinic is only $29!

Thursday Night Track Workouts w/StudioMix


Alex is joining forces with StudioMix to offer coached track workouts in April on Thursday nights at 6pm. We will meet at StudioMix, jog over to Kezar Stadium (about 2 miles), and start the workout at 6:30pm. This is a great opportunity to tune up your speed for an upcoming race, become familiar with the track, and get expert coaching on your form. Only $95 for all 4 sessions! Click HERE to sign up.
