Summer Is Here!

The 2015/2016 academic year has come to a close, but for those of us on campus there is still much to be done in the summer months.

Have a student worker staying through the summer who needs web access? Want to take some time to refresh your department or office webpage? Or maybe you simply want a bit of face time to get help with your website. In this week's newsletter your friendly neighborhood Oxy Web Team is covering these and other housekeeping topics as we move into the summer months.

Summer Student Web Editor Accounts

All student web editor accounts have been deactivated as of Friday, May 13. If you have a student worker who will need web access on Oxy.edu over the summer please submit a request form as soon as possible, even if that student previously had a web editor account.

As a reminder, you will also need to submit a request form in the fall for every student worker who needs a web editor account, whether they are a new or returning student. We will send another notice before the fall semester begins.

Summer Office Hours

Our web office hours are temporarily on hiatus, but we will be back starting the week of June 6 on the following schedule:

Tuesdays 10am-12 noon
Thursdays 2-4pm

All office hours will be held in the oMac lab on the first floor of the Academic Commons.

Annual Department Traffic Reports

Every year the web team sends an annual report for every department and office website with an overview of your web traffic, as well as tips to improve the content and user experience on your web pages. We will begin compiling these reports once the fiscal year ends on June 30, so look for them in your inboxes in the late summer!

And of course, if you ever have questions about how to make your website the best it can be you can always contact the web team at any point throughout the year.
