Bertrand Minary has been appointed Managing Director of the Railenium Institute for Technology Research and Executive Director of the TTP (“Transports Terrestres Promotion”) association, which oversees the i- Trans competitiveness cluster. He was appointed on February 1st, 2022.
Well-known as railway technical expert and substitute teacher in Supply Chain Management, Bertrand Minary has more than 20 years of experience in railway operations and in the management of international collaborative innovation programs. He was previously Industry and Innovation Director of SNCF Rail Logistics Europe and was in charge of the innovation program for the 4F Alliance (“Fret Ferroviaire Français du Futur”; Future French Railway Freight).
The appointment of Bertrand Minary happens when railway innovation needs to accelerate climate change strategies. There are the main current programs of the Railenium Institute (autonomous train, digital test center, railway modelling and forecasting) but also new projects resulting from recent initiatives, such as the CORIFER open calls in France or the Europe's Rail JU’s ones.
His missions will be to manage the development of Railenium through the initiated projects in 2021, the emergence of new projects as well as the implementation of the “skills centers” required to meet the needs of the Institute's partners. For i-Trans, his priorities will be the development of the cluster's strategy for the 5th phase of competitiveness clusters, in order to renew the cluster's labellisation. He will also be responsible for aligning the internal processes and skills of i-Trans and Railenium for innovation both in the railway sector and in other mobility sectors.
