The Message Stick is a regular update of key activities and developments in the WQPHN for Board Directors and Clinical & Consumer Advisory Council Members

In this edition:

  • Sandy recaps her recent trip to the South West region to meet with stakeholders over key regional topics including:
    • Primary Health Care Alliance meeting with Anthony Brown (CEO SWHHS) and key stakeholders to formalise the South West Primary Health Care Alliance between WQPHN, HHS, General Practice and ACCHOs.
    • Cr Shaun (Zoro) Radnedge (Charleville Mayor) to address Aged Care priorities in the Murweh Shire region including local workforce opportunities.
    • Jean Benham to discuss regional priorities from an Allied Health perspective.
    • Jo Mahony from RFDS on the great work they are doing in the region, with a focus on WQ Health Care Home and men's health, and how WQPHN can assist.
  • We meet with Jean Benham for "Who's Who in WQ", Chair of the South West Clinical Chapter, Director of Vital Health and Physiotherapist for many years in South West Queensland.
Sandy also gives thanks to Cr Andrew Martin (Tambo Mayor) for his assistance on the road!
Message sticks have played an important part in communication between Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander groups across the immense Australian landscape for thousands of years and have survived as part of Australian cultural celebrations.
