  • PPE Distribution of surgical masks hits the 25,000 mark! Congratulations to the PCI team for all their great efforts in making sure our health professionals receive the PPE supplies they require during COVID-19

  • Nukal Murra Alliance submitted a response to the Qld Health Equity Consultation 2020 in support of the proposed amendments to the Hospital and Health Boards Act 2011 to improve cultural safety and improve health equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Queensland

  • APS Telehealth Webinar Competently using tools for Telehealth in Rural and Remote service provision was held Monday 29 June with 18 participants joining experts in the field of ehealth, to gain unique insights and learnings about how to apply these new skills in Telehealth-Care in their patch. The Webinar will remain available for viewing for 28 days and is the first in a series of 5 being prepared by APS.

  • What are the benefits of ehealth? – check out this video, including a local GP and a Mater Health specialist

  • Menzies School of Health Research has invited WQPHN join a national collaborative to work together in further innovating the Stay Strong App to facilitate access to care, wellbeing data collection, and streamline service delivery in response to COVID-19.

  • Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association CEO provided a presentation to Qld PHNs on the 2020-2025 National Health Reform Agreement, highlighting key opportunities for PHNs to be actively involved in the Reform. View here

  • Staff meeting held this week, providing an opportunity for staff to have a (virtual) face to face meeting and discuss current issues, ensuring we are still connected, despite the challenges of COVID-19.

  • Headspace Roma – advertising campaign commenced to support the Request for Tender process, with the Tender portal opening next Monday 6 July.

  • Department of Health approved the WQPHN Primary Mental Health Activity Work plan for 2020-21 this week. A web version will be developed to load on our website for public viewing.

  • Commissioned Service Providers contract variations for 2020-21 are progressing, with 80% completed and expect all to be completed by the end of this week.

  • WQPHN COVID-19 news updates are being sent out daily via Mailchimp– this week news stories

Message sticks have played an important part in communication between Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander groups across the immense Australian landscape for thousands of years and have survived as part of Australian cultural celebrations. 

WQPHN has created a dedicated webpage which is updated regularly as information is provided.
Updates include information packs for General Practice, Commissioned Service Providers and Residential Aged Care Facilities. 

WQ HealthPathways contains current Qld-endorsed care pathways and local information for COVID-19 management
