Spring is my favorite season. Everything is new and fresh. All of the rain that the Lord has brought this Spring has made a beautiful canvas of wildflowers as our home’s backdrop. Our rose bushes are budding more than I have ever seen them bud! It is beautiful. It reminds me of our lives in Christ. He paints a beautiful canvas for our lives and makes us clean and fresh. The ladies here are experiencing His goodness, some for the very first time.
Before coming to Sanctified Hope, the ladies go through an intense application process. We are Texas Department of Criminal Justice Approved; therefore, we are in the resource book in Texas prisons. The application process begins with the inmate contacting us, saying they are interested in coming to Sanctified Hope. We then start with the first part of the process. After the 3-part application is finished, I then decide if they are ready for our program. Currently, we have 14 women on our approved waiting list. They are waiting to hear from the parole board, or serve their whole sentence. The plans are that three ladies are coming in June and two in July. The rest will be coming throughout the year. I’m sure that will change going forward. Flexibility is a definite requirement for working at Sanctified Hope. We know that God has just the right women coming at just the right time. His timing is always perfect.
On a personal note, I wanted to give y’all an update on my husband Tracy. He had a PET scan two months ago and there is no evidence of disease! He had another reconstruction surgery a month ago and he is healing very well! He has been doing IV antibiotics since then due to infection, but we are hopeful that next Monday he will be finished with that! He goes three times per week to get “shock therapy” on his throat to help stimulate his muscles which we pray will help him to start swallowing. He was honored with the Courage Award at the North Texas Laryngectomy Society’s (NTLS) Red Dress Gala. NTLS is a non-profit that brings awareness for head and neck cancer and helps those that suffer from it. Thank you for your prayers. Please keep them coming!
Please continue to pray for Sanctified Hope and the women. If you would like to help out, our biggest need this month is Laundry Detergent and Dishwasher detergent.
