October
Fall is here! We're bringing many fun fall time activities that we're going to share with you.

Fall Festival
On October 6th, BEAD is hosting a B-Line Bicentennial event and they asked if Artisan Alley would like to participate. Instead of setting up a booth along the B-Line, we decided to bring a Fall Festival to our 222 W 2nd St. location! There will be lawn games like cornhole and giant jenga, food trucks, artists selling their work, a DJ, and hard apple cider. We will also be unveiling our finished collaborative mural that our artists have been working hard on for months. There is no admission fee for this event.

Food & Art Fair Comes to an End
Artisan Alley has loved having our weekly Food and Art Fair/ Art Market this Spring and Summer. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. The Food and Art Fair will end on October 6th, closing out with a bang at our Fall Festival! Next year, we have decided to make these markets once a month instead of every week. If you're interested in setting up a booth at the fair, please fill out this application.
Upcoming Events
FIRST FRIDAY:
Extra! Extra! Dimensions Gallery is now part of the official Bloomington Gallery Walk!
This month, in celebration of all things spooky, Artisan Alley will be hosting a slightly creepy show by Victoria Ridgway and Kelly Webeck entitled Broadcast. Our First Friday Opening Reception will take place on October 5th at 5pm, and we will be hosting a closing reception on October 26th at 5pm.

SECOND SATURDAY:
Every month in our gallery space, we host a DJ event. This event brings over 3 DJs that spin tracks all night long. This month, something sinister is in the works. Keep an eye on our event calendar on our website to get updates about the theme of this show and the DJ's participating.

COMMUNITY CRAFT CLASSES:
Artisan Alley has teamed up with Crumble Coffee Shop to bring a Copper Wire Wrapping class to their Downtown location on October 18th at 5pm. We are also planning a class with Campus Costume in October to teach people how to make wounds using (non allergenic) liquid latex, tissue paper, and makeup. Dates for this class to be announced.

FALL CLASSES:
Starting October 2nd at 5:30 pm, Artisan Alley will be hosting fall classes at our Burl and Ingot workshop. These classes will be in 2 class sessions with a theme of puzzles. We will have stained glass, woodworking, metalworking, and ceramics classes available. Classes are $25/class or $50 for the complete session. We will be giving away 2 scholarships for these classes for middle or high school students who would like to take the class but may not have the money to do so. If you're interested in these classes, please email info@artisanalley.com for more information.
Volunteers Needed
Artisan Alley has recently opened up 2 new locations: Twisted-Alt Art Shop at 804 W Kirkwood and Burl & Ingot Workshop at 1305.5 W 11th St. With the growth of our organization comes the need for volunteers. We need volunteers to help with our Twisted location. This location is open Monday-Saturday from 12pm-8pm. If you're interested in volunteering, please send us an email at volunteer@artisanalley.com.

Downtown Trick or Treat
Artisan Alley has signed up to be part of the Bloomington Downtown Trick or Treat on October 26th at our 2nd Street location. We will be providing suckers and coffee filters with markers and colored pencils. The children can wrap the suckers in the coffee filters, decorate them like ghosts, and leave with a cute and tasty craft!

New Signage for Both Locations
Artisan Alley and Indie Sunshine are collaborating to bring new signs to our 2nd St. and Kirkwood locations. Our first sign will be for Second Street, and will say "Artisan Mini-Mall." The other signs will be small icons representing the businesses and retail stores. These icons will be present at both locations. At our Kirkwood location, we will be working with a calligraphist to get an 'open' sign and some sandwich boards made. Keep your eyes peeled for these exciting new signs!
Available Studios
Both Artisan Alley locations have studios available for rent. At Second Street, Studio D is becoming available very soon. This studio is 19' x 7' and would rent for $225/mo. At our Kirkwood location, we have two 15' x 15' studios with high ceilings and plenty of natural light. If you're interested in any of these studios, please fill out this application and someone will contact you shortly.
A little about Danielle
Larissa Danielle Wingate joined our team at the end of May and has been helping us with Volunteer Coordination and bringing new, fresh class ideas to our building. She has been the instructor for Cider and Canvas and Cookies and Canvas since May and has been creating many exciting classes since then. She has brought Artisan Alley out into the community with volunteer fairs, through which we gained almost 70 new subscribers for our non-member Newsletters. We know Danielle will continue to flourish with her classes and community outreach and we are proud to have her on our team!
