  • Jill Schwarzkopf with Sleep Tight Kids
  • It was great to see Cam and Ralph Sexton again!
We presented Jill Schwarzkopf a check for $1300 for Sleeptight Kids.  Because it was giving Tuesday, someone is going to double the amount.  STK became a nonprofit in 2009, providing 75 comfort items that year.  In 2017, they provided over 10,00 items in 9 counties in WNC.  Comfort bags include a teddy bear, blanket, dental kit, flashlight and book and cost $25 each.  With this donation, our club will be providing 104 comfort bags for children in need!
  • We had 19 members present today for the meeting.
  • Monday December 9th is our Christmas Shopping spree with 14 children from Steadfast House and also some from the  Boys and Girls Club.  Join us at 6:00 at the J&S at River Ridge to eat with them or  arrive at Wal Mart on Bleachery Blvd. around 6:45. We will meet at the home improvement side of Wal Mart.
  • Billie will be bringing a Salvation Army kettle on Dec. 17th if you would like to give a donation.
  • Please be thinking about possible sponsors for our race and let an officer or board member know if we should contact someone.
  • The updated member directory is at the bottom of our website under members only.  If you need the password, let Elaine know.  You can download it to your computer,or print it out, if you want to keep it handy for quick access.
Russ presented Ralph Sexton with his 25 year member pin.
  • Drone Initiative is moving forward.  Windell met with the Chancellor at UNCA   They will partner with us and have some students do service learning and work with kids at Rock Hill Baptist after school program to build drones.
  • He also met with the county sports commissioner recently. They are working with the drone racing league to get a venue, possibly the civic center.  We will partner with the Asheville sports commission.
  •    December 19th we will work at the Eblen Toy Store from 5-8.

Eliada Home Kiwanis Playground Update

We will be giving about $1800 towards the playground, which is the money raised from the silent auction at our gala.

Another way you can help is to sign up for
Amazon Smile and add Eliada Home as your charity.   When you buy anything on Amazon, 5% of the purchase will go towards the Eliada Playground.  You have to place your order from the Amazon Smile page.  Tell your family and friends so they can help us too!  If you need help, I can show you at our next meeting.
2019-2020 Officers and Directors
Our speaker was Kiwanian Ralph Sexton.  He has a love for Israel, and his ministry has been doing many projects to help the people of Israel.  They have bought an ambulance and mobile intensive care unit that is being used to supply blood and emergency services for accident victims. The Abraham Children's ministry reaches out to children, providing playgrounds, ball fields and other programs for children.  They also have a children's hospital.  If you would like to join Rev. Sexton on one of his tours of the Holy Land next year, or would like to donate to The Israel Fund, visit his website for more information.
