November 16, 2021
We have decided to do the Christmas shopping spree in person this year and use local businesses!
It will be Monday, December 6th.  We'll meet at Transformation Village at 6:00 to enjoy dinner from a local restaurant with the moms and kids, then take them shopping at a local toy store around 7:00.  Go Local Asheville is going to work with us and promote what we are doing in their newsletter!  Put the date on your calendar and plan to join us.  More details to come!
We'll work with some Key Club members to help underprivileged parents shop for their children on December 16th, 5:15-8:00.  This year it is located in the old Frugal Backpacker store in Westgate.  It has heat and bathrooms! :)
Speaker Spotlight
Our speaker was Sherree Lucas, the executive director of Go Local Asheville.  She gave us the idea to use local businesses for our shopping spree.  You can pre order your 2022 Go Local card now.   The card is good at over 500 local independent businesses in the greater Asheville area. For every card purchased, $10 goes to Asheville City Schools.  Last year, they gave $33,000 to ACS.  These would make great stocking stuffers!
