Our speaker was Jim Fox, Senior Resilience Associate with NEMAC-Fernleaf, a public-private organization that conducts risks assessments and data analysis solutions for communities and institutions. They create strategies for reducing community vulnerability and risk impacts from extreme weather events and increasing rates of growth by partnering with community groups, municipal and county staff, non profits and other agencies.

January 19 - Neal Reed, Director of Operations for New Morning Ltd will speak on the life and legacy of prominent local philanthropist John Cram who recently passed away and had a huge impact on development in downtown Asheville. Cram owned New Morning Gallery, Fine Arts Theatre, and other businesses in town
January 26 - Mary Spivey, Community Manager of the Collider, will speak on the programs and operations of the Collider, a global center for climate entrepreneurs based in downtown Asheville

February 16 -. Victoria “Vic” Isley, the new president and CEO of Explore Asheville Convention and Visitors Bureau will speak on the programs and services of Explore Asheville and update us on the current state of the area tourism economy
February 23 - Cheryl Fowler, Membership Director of the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy, will speak on the Conservancy’s ongoing programs and efforts to protect valuable forests, streams, and farm land and how their activities have adapted to address the Covid pandemic
