The Asheville Kiwanis Club meets for a business meeting from 12-12:30 and a guest speaker from 12:30-1 on Tuesdays on Zoom.  Please reply to this email if you would like a link to attend one of our meetings.

  • We had 7 members and 1 visitor  at our meeting. 
  • Invite someone to join us next week for our speaker John Russell with the Montford Park Players.  Now that things are opening back up, he'll tell us all about their summer season.  Also, we will have Jason Posnock join us on June 29th to give us a sneak peek at Brevard Music Center's Summer concerts that begin in July. 
  • Quarter 3 dues have been sent out.    Please mail these to Ashley Huggins  First Bank 10 S. Tunnel Rd. 28805  If you have questions please email Scott Rogers.
     Our speaker was Ms. Janice Gouldthorpe, new Executive Director of the NC Glass Center based in Asheville. North Carolina Glass Center is dedicated to education, exploration, and collaboration in all forms of glass. They offer many classes , Operation Gather for veterans, and youth programs. 
      Visitors can visit their studio and shop in the River Arts district to see glassblowing and flameworking demonstrations or attend educational classes which are offered daily.  
       Another service the glass center offers is repair of broken glass art pieces that you may have.  They even have group of over 20 in house artists who are available to help recreate objects that are beyond repair.  Stop by the gallery or send an email to info@ncglasscenter.org for a repair inquiry.
June 15 - Mr. John Russell, Executive Director of the Montford Park Players. John will update us on the programs and activities of the Montford Park Players which will be opening in May to offer Shakespeare in the park. John also serves on the board of the NC Arts Council.
June 22 - Mr. Glenn Fields, new Executive Director of Folkmoot USA, the International Folk Festival based in Waynesville, NC. Glenn will update us on the current programs at Folkmoot and the schedule of activities at the new Folkmoot festival to be held
June 29 - Mr. Jason Posnock, VP and Chief Artistic Officer of Brevard Music Center. Jason is going to give us a detailed preview of Brevard Music Center’s summer concert and performance season which runs during July and August this year.
