The Asheville Kiwanis Club meets for lunch, a business meeting and a guest speaker from 12-1:30pm  on Tuesdays (except for the last Tuesday of the month) in the fellowship hall of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, on the corner of Merrimon Ave. and Chestnut St. (across from Harris Teeter) 

We also have an evening club, Kiwanis One, which meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays from 5:30 - 7 at different venues around town.  Join our Facebook page for up to date information.

Welcome to our 3 new members:  Timothy Sadler, Emily Wheeler, and Tom Scifres
  • We had 19 members present today for our President's luncheon.
  • Thank you to everyone who helped make our gala a success with silent auction donations, sponsors and by attending.  It was a wonderful evening!  Watch a slideshow of some pictures here.
  • Elaine gave out copies of the updated policies in our Bylaws which we will vote on at the Oct. 15th meeting.  If you did not receive one, they will be available at the next meeting, or you can see them here.  The highlighted policies at the end are what we will be voting on.  
  • The updated member directory is at the bottom of our website under members only.  If you need the password, let Elaine know.  You can download it to your computer,or print it out, if you want to keep it handy for quick access.
Congratulations to Scott Rogers for receiving his 35 year Legion of Honor pin and Bill Boughton for receiving his 25 year pin!
We have inducted 5 new members into our club who will be attending our evening Kiwanis One meetings from 5:30-7 on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month.  The first project will be a fundraiser for Guardian Ad Litem on November 15th at Eluvium Brewing in Weaverville.  The club is also beginning work on a Drone Racing initiative and afterschool program, which is very exciting.  The next meeting will be Thursday, October 10th at Eluvium Brewing.   
  • Former member, Karen Vickers' husband Larry died this past week.  
  • JoAnn Morgan will be having knee surgery on October 18th.  
          Keep Collecting Box Tops!
Johnston is collecting box tops which earn money for their school!    Many products you buy have them.  Click here to see a list.  There will be a jar at the check in table.  Bring any box tops you've collected during the week, and we will deliver them to  Johnston when school starts back in the fall.  
2019-2020 Officers and Directors
  • October 8 - Ms. Kristina Lunsford, Program Manager, Explore USA, working with European college students who come to visit and study the US
  • October 15 - Ms. Devona Finley, Clinical Post Adoption Specialist of the Children’s Home Society of NC   We will be voting on approving the bylaws.
  •  October 22 - John Burns, Cardiac Care Nurse from Tampa, FL. (John is a Kiwanian who has visited us in the past.)
  • October 29 - No lunch meeting.  Come to our Kiwanis One evening meeting this week
