Kiwanis One will be doing a fundraiser at The Salvage Station for Guardian Ad Litem soon.  The next meetings are August 25th and August 1.  Check Facebook for the location of the meetings.
Future dates are:
  • August 3rd
  • August 15th
Plan to come out to one or more of these games for some great fellowship time with other Kiwanians.
There will be a box to collect school supplies at each meeting until August 6th.
We'll be collecting supplies at Ingles on Tunnel Road August 7th   5-7pm.  We need at least 3 people.
If you would like to help distribute supplies to the students on August 14th, follow this link and choose your time.  You will just need to give an email when you sign up.  This is a great activity to do with your older children or grandchildren, or to give them some service hours for school.   Anyone can sign up to help!
We have tickets for the August 24th sale!  Our club keeps the $5 from each ticket we sell so it's easy money!  Pick up some tickets at the next few meetings to take to your business or sell to friends.  We're also going to sell on Saturday morning, August 24th at Belk from 7am - 9:00 or 9-11:00.  Sign up if you can help for 2 hours.
          Keep Collecting During the Summer!
Johnston is collecting box tops which earn money for their school!    Many products you buy have them.  Click here to see a list.  There will be a jar at the check in table.  Bring any box tops you've collected during the week, and we will deliver them to  Johnston when school starts back in the fall.
There was a nice article in the Mountain Express about the formation of our club 100 years ago.  The writer didn't get the date of our charter correct, but he did reference many things that were published in the Asheville Citizen 100 years ago about the Kiwanis Club. Read the article here
Our 100 year gala will be September 21 at Lutheridge.  We are in the process of getting some sponsors.  We are trying to reach out to organizations that Kiwanis has helped in the past as well as other businesses that want to support our mission.  If you have any ideas, or know of any former Kiwanians with a business that might like to be a sponsor, please let us know or take sponsorship information to them.

Print a copy of the sponsorship information here.

We will also be having a silent auction that night to raise money for our division playground at Eliada Home.  Please help us gather items such as tickets, gift certificates, art work, or anything that might bring in some money at the auction.  Ask for a gift card donation at your favorite restaurant, or ask a business you frequent to donate something.

Print a copy of the invitation/flyer to take to businesses to ask for donations for our silent auction or give to someone you want to invite to the gala.

The deadline for the sponsors, auction and RSVP will be August 10th!  Buy your ticket here
