Our speaker was Sarah Hart, Communications Manager with ASAP (Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project).  Their mission is to help local farms thrive, link farmers to markets and supporters, and build healthy communities through connections to local food. Sarah shared about The Local Food Campaign, which drives public demand for local farm products, builds farmer capacity to access market opportunities, and creates connections within the food system. The Local Food Campaign programs include the Local Food Guide and Appalachian Grown program.  Check out these great publications for the location of tailgate markets around Asheville and the location of the many local farms in the area.
