Our speaker was Steve Lloyd, Executive Director of the HART Theater in Waynesville.  The last live show was March 13th, 2019.  Just like other theaters across the country, they have had to come up with creative ways to adapt in order to keep their business operating.  They are fortunate being the only theater in Haywood County.  Many of their donors have continued to give and support them.  Most patrons did not ask for their money back from season tickets or from the NY theater trip that was planned last May.  The theater has been able to raise between $2,000-$3,000 each month with virtual programs. Visit their website to view these.
HART hopes to begin shows again this summer, but will not announce the schedule, or have auditions, until about 6 weeks before. If they are able, the season will start with A Gershwin Musical Review in June and continue with the other shows that were scheduled last year.
