We presented Girls on The Run with a check for $1650. This will provide 10 full Girls on the Run scholarships, or many partial scholarships for girls to participate in the program, which helps girls build life skills, fitness and confidence through training for and participating in a 5k run.
          Keep Collecting Box Tops!
Johnston is collecting box tops which earn money for their school!    Many products you buy have them.  Click here to see a list.  There will be a jar at the check in table.  Bring any box tops you've collected during the week, and we will deliver them to  Johnston when school starts back in the fall.
Our 100 year gala will be September 21 at Lutheridge.  We are in the process of getting some sponsors.  We are trying to reach out to organizations that Kiwanis has helped in the past as well as other businesses that want to support our mission.  If you have any ideas, or know of any former Kiwanians with a business that might like to be a sponsor, please let us know or take sponsorship information to them.

Print a copy of the sponsorship information here.

We will also be having a silent auction that night to raise money for our division playground at Eliada Home.  Please help us gather items such as tickets, gift certificates, art work, or anything that might bring in some money at the auction.  Ask for a gift card donation at your favorite restaurant, or ask a business you frequent to donate something.

Print a copy of the invitation/flyer to take to businesses to ask for donations for our silent auction or give to someone you want to invite to the gala.
The deadline for tickets has been extended until September 15!   Buy your tickets here
Candace Thopmson, Volunteer Coordinator at WNC Nature Center, was our featured speaker. The WNC Nature Center serves 140,000 adults and children annually. Almost all animals at the center are rescued animals which would likely not be able to survive on their own. The Center also provides outreach education for underserved communities, and have helped over 15,000 additional people through these programs since 2017. Learn more at
