This Saturday, December 3rd, from 12PM-4PM we are looking for volunteers to help facilitate a few services at Box City (7th Street at Irwin), including a BBQ, Portable Shower Demo, Bike Repair Station (Bring your bike!), and Clean-Up Project.
We are also looking for 10-20 volunteers who want to work as a team with Box City and nearby Carolina Street residents over the next month to support garbage pick-up, encampment organization, and community-building with encampment residents. Use the google sign-up form or e-mail us at info@saintfrancischallenge.org to get more information.
Update on Box City: The City's Encampment Resolution Team will be focusing on "resolving" the 20-25 person community of residents at Box City starting in a week or two. Our goal is for as many Box City residents as possible to get placed in their chosen housing/shelter option (i.e. an SRO or the Navigation Center) or to be able to stay together and move to a sanctioned area where we can pilot an organized community of transitional sleep & storage structures and other services while they wait for suitable transition options.
In community,
