Message from Coach Jim

~ We are excited to announce JMSS has joined USA Swimming foundation water safety initiative, Make a Splash.  Make a Splash and JMSS share a common goal of saving lives and getting children in better shape.  We hope to receive grant funding soon to provide the opportunity for every child in our immediate area to learn to swim.

~ We had families who took a break from swim lessons last fall, but I am pleased to see lots of kids returning to JMSS to gear up for summer aquatic activities.  When doing evaluations for placement in our classes, it is obvious that kids who stopped swimming after last summer needed some catching up, versus those who continued their lessons.  Check out this blog to understand why, scientifically speaking, it is important to keep bringing the kiddos to the water.

~ Lastly, remember to let your friends and neighbors know JMSS offers free water safety talks to help spread awareness of drowning prevention. To schedule, email Ellis or let the front desk know you have an interested group.

Water Safety
Employee of the Month

JMSS is gearing up to sponsor Water Safety Week, May 2 – 7. Our goal is to keep all people safer in and around the water. Our staff will use tips and techniques from the Safer 3 curriculum to teach our swimmers how to be a safer kid.  Activities will include a fun water safety challenge at the end of the week.

Anthony Gomez
Anthony has been a swim instructor with JMSS since we opened last year.  He loves teaching swimming because; "even if the students don’t realize it, the fun we have in swim class could actually save their life."
