Don't steal our Libraries

THE FIGHT GOES ON: TWO IMPORTANT DATES THIS WEEK
ALL SUPPORTERS WELCOME

Lobby of Lambeth Council Annual General Meeting,
Wednesday 13th April, 6.30pm

Elm Green School, Elmcourt Rd, London SE27 9BZ

Next campaign organising meeting
Thursday 14th April, 7pm

Brixton Library

This week we follow up on the achievements of the Carnegie Library occupation. Tomorrow (weds) the Annual General Meeting of the Lambeth Cabinet is due to take place at Elm Green School.  At this meeting, the Council assigns roles for the coming year.  We already know that Cllr Jane Edbrooke, instigator of the Culture2020 bookish gyms plan is being moved away from responsibility for Culture.  Cllr Jack Hopkins will be her replacement with this portfolio.

Join Unison and defendthe10 to lobby the meeting and make sure the Cabinet know that our campaign is here to stay until they change their mind and all libraries are reopened fully staffed. We will be giving a special cheer for Councillor Rachel Heywood, the only Labour Councillor who has broken ranks with colleagues and spoken out about the library closures.

The following day the campaign meets at Brixton Library to plan next steps.  See you there.
