Neighborhood Visits: Smoke Detector Blitz Grant Program

From March through August, firefighters will make door-to-door visits in City of Loveland and Symmes Township neighborhoods to check current smoke alarms and install new alarms, if needed, as part of the Loveland-Symmes Fire Department’s Smoke Detector Blitz Grant Program. Firefighters will be dressed in uniform and visit homes during the evenings and on weekends.

Look for signs and door hangers in your neighborhood to announce when visits will begin. Updates will also be posted on the LSFD Facebook Page

LHS Students Get Speed Mentoring Experience
Loveland High School seniors engaged in real-world learning when they participated in the Speed Mentoring event on March 1. Speed Mentoring, an event which is hosted by the Clermont County Chamber’s Workforce Readiness Initiative, is modeled after “speed dating” and involves students rotating from table to table every 7-8 minutes to meet and learn from various professionals. The students have the opportunity to hear about different careers, including how each professional got from school into their current position. There were a lot of great questions asked about education, training, and experience that may be needed to obtain a job in a similar field. Throughout the mentoring event, students may have engaged in these conversations with up to 50 different professionals. Loveland City School District appreciates the partnership with the Clermont County Chamber and the various businesses that were represented at this event.
