City Council Opposes Centralized Income Tax Collection

At their March 14 meeting, Loveland City Council joined numerous other cities across Ohio and unanimously passed a resolution opposing a state budget proposal to centralized collection of municipal tax returns and other provisions detrimental to local governments.  The centralized collection and other provisions would cause Loveland to lose additional revenue, which is needed to provide public services.

Employment Opportunity

The City of Loveland has begun the process to hire a new police officer.  Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and OPOTA Certification at the time of appointment.  Applications are available at the Loveland Safety Center, 126 S. Lebanon Road, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, or on the City's website.  Completed applications must be received by 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19.

A written test will be given at 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 23, at Loveland High School, 1 Tiger Trail.  Current State of Ohio Peace Officers and Ohio State Highway Patrol Troopers with at least one year of full time experience are exempt from the writing test and will proceed directly to the oral test.  Higher starting pay and vacation credit may apply. Extra test credit will be awarded for education, prior law enforcement experience, and military service.

The hiring process includes the written test, an oral test, background investigation, truth verification test, psychological assessment, drug test, and medical exam.  Annual pay $57,412 to $69,349 with excellent benefits.  Contact 513-583-3000 or visit for more information.

The City of Loveland is an equal opportunity employer.
