Sneak preview of the label that will go on NFD barrel pick bottles.
Neeley Family Distillery is ramping up for a barrel pick program. I got a chance to get a preview of the sticker they have designed for bottles filled from barrels selected in the program. These will be used for both gift shop picks as well as liquor store, bars/restaurants, clubs and individuals buying a barrel or barrels. It's a well thought out design, with such fun aspects as a name for the barrel, who/what entity is selecting it and even specifically who is picking it (thing along the lines of a liquor store listed in the "Selected By" box and the people making the selection in the "Picked By" box). Neeley continues to impress with what they are doing.
I recently recorded a podcast with Kim and Peter Newberry of Newberry Bros. Coffee and Prohibition Bar. They are located in Newport, Kentucky, less than a mile from New Riff. It sounds like a must stop location... not just for the coffee and croissants (which sound amazing), but the bar. It has the largest whiskey selection in the world? What??? Seriously! Over 2,500 different bottles and counting. Good news, they are an #ABVNetworkCrew Club partner as well, offering a free 12 ounce coffee with purchase as their special for July.
Just interviewed Andy Mansinne, Vice President of Brands at MGP for an upcoming edition of The Bourbon Show. He confirmed they will have several new bourbon offerings by the end of the year. This will expand their portfolio which has four brands already in it (Tanner's Creek which is Indiana-only, George Remus, Rossville Union Rye and Eight & Sand Blended Bourbon).
