Jason Brauner, the owner of Bourbons Bistro, is coming out with his very whiskey brand. It's called Buzzard's Roost. It's a sourced brand that will feature different types of whiskey, including bourbon, in its various releases. Long-term, Jason may end of opening a distillery, but for now, he's excited about getting into the business he's been so passionate about for so many years. There is a party for the first release tonight (Friday, July 26) at 6:00 p.m. at the Wine Rack, just down the street from Bourbons Bistro. Members of the #ABVNetworkCrew Club will be in attendance, so stop by and say "hi."
Maker's Mark has something coming pretty cool this holiday season. They are doing a three-pack of 375 ml bottles. The set includes a Maker's Cask Strength, a Maker's 46 and a "very special" Private Select. I don't know what the secret is that makes the Private Select "very special," but I can confirm I am intrigued. I'm putting this one on my Christmas list for sure!
Heaven Hill is doing their own podcast. It's called Tales from the Hill and they have partnered with WhiskyCast podcaster Mark Gillespie to produce these shows. I am a fan of Mark's work so I'm guessing these are going to be great (I haven't listened yet as I tend to catch up on podcasts while on the road to Kentucky). They have already started their 6-week season one. Check out Tales from the Hill wherever you find podcasts.
