If you have been in ministry or in the workplace at all, I'm sure someone has told you to make sure you take time off and get some rest. We are so bad at listening to that though. God tells us to come to Him and He will give us rest. Rest is a Biblical principle that we like to ignore. However, even Jesus left the crowds at times to go be Himself on a mountain with God. When is the last time you did that?
At the beginning of each new year, we tend to start off with a sprint and get tired before January is over. God designed us to need and crave rest. What does true rest look like? If you're like me, your go-to response is that you don't have time to take a break. God is really challenging me this year to take time to rest with just Him and I. He gave me Psalm 23 to emphasize this is what rest should be like. If rest is difficult for you, pray Psalm 23 over your life. Find where God is leading you beside the still waters. Wait on Him.
