Peace and Strength
Have you had a day recently that was just difficult? Or, maybe you had a day that was just a little stressful. The good news is that God has an answer for those days. We all want strength and really do need it to live our lives, but strength takes work. No one builds muscles if they don't put in some extra effort or exertion to lift weights or exercise. The dictionary defines strength as "the capacity of an object or substance to withstand great force or pressure." This means that we are going to face pressure. The good news is that God has given us strength so that we can withstand what comes at us. Everything that we face builds our strength and we never face anything alone.
We always need more peace. Peace can mean many things but is best defined by "freedom from disquieting or oppressive thoughts or emotions." God has promised us complete freedom. A lack of peace is something many of us struggle with. However, the Bible states more than once that God has blessed us with peace. Are you able to receive the peace that God has given you? When God gives us both strength and peace, we are able to withstand pressure without disquieting thoughts or emotions. This shows a complete trust in God. We know that He is in control and we don't need to be worried about anything. How can you rely on the Lord's strength and His peace more in your life?
