FAC Net sends our deepest condolences to everyone who has suffered losses from the Camp and Woolsey Fires. Fires like those leave us all eager to pinpoint root causes and solutions. So, we appreciate the point Crystal Kolden made in a recent OpEd in the New York Times:

“The social science of fires has shown us that there is no panacea, no one fix that will work everywhere — some communities have different needs, others have different levels of resources. The key to solving the wildfire problem is to develop local solutions that work for a given location and topography and a given community.”

We extend our gratitude to all of you, who are working to identify and implement local solutions in your places, in your communities.
