COVID-19 precautionary measures at Victory Mission + Ministry

The spread of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) has grabbed headlines worldwide. Victory Mission is keeping a close eye on potential risks to our fellow friends and staff. We want to support the health of the population we serve. To err on the side of caution, Victory will be restricting access to our facilities for all non-essential volunteers and visitors.

The following changes to our daily operations have been in effect since Saturday, March 14. Victory will re-evaluate these changes on Monday, March 30.

Lifted Classes

Victory's Lifted classes have been postponed. Victory will continue to distribute meals to those who regularly attend classes. Instead of offering seated meals, "to go" style meals will be offered.

Women's Drop-in Center

The Drop-in Center, which is regularly open Wednesday - Friday will be closed until further notice.

Clothing Pantry

The Clothing Pantry will be closed until further notice. Families in need of emergency food are encouraged to call our Pantry at 417-864-2219 for assistance.

Women's Restoration Classes

Women's Restoration classes have been canceled for the time being. Our case managers will continue to communicate with women via telephone to navigate difficult situations.

Men's Restoration Classes

All men's classes at Victory Square have been delayed, including Jobs for Life. The Jobs for Life graduation at Crimson House Church on Thursday, March 28 will be rescheduled for a later date.

Senior Luncheon

The Senior Luncheon for the month of March (scheduled for Thursday, March 19th) has been cancelled. As of now, we plan to resume in April. Any of our regular attendees who show up will be offered a "to-go" style meal.

Victory Square

Victory will continue to serve new clients. Individuals who are experiencing homelessness must go through a screening process to determine if they are candidates for receiving overnight shelter at Victory Square. Upon arrival, men seeking shelter will have their temperature taken. Anyone with a temperature below 100.4 degrees (following CDC guidelines) and free of symptoms will be offered overnight shelter, pending availability.

Hourly cleaning and disinfecting are taking place throughout Victory Square. Additionally, reminder announcements explaining proper hygiene and social distancing techniques are being shared with men staying at the Square.

Residents of the Men's Restoration program have been moved to a different location in order to maintain social distancing in living quarters for residents of Victory Square.

Warehouse + Donation Center

To avoid the spread of germs, Victory asks the community to cease dropping off donations at the Warehouse and Distribution Center until further notice.

In lieu of physical donations, online contributions can be made to continue to support our services. Although Victory is temporarily adjusting daily operations to protect people we serve, we will continue to distribute emergency food and shelter

One last thing.

At Victory Mission, we believe in the power of prayer. Pray with us for recovery throughout the world. Pray for the health and safety of the vulnerable population we serve. Ask God to enable Victory Mission to continue to share God's love with men and women facing crisis situations in our community.

Happy to help.
