Applications due September 15, 2019

Halifax North Memorial Public Library
K'jipuktuk, Mi’kma’ki

The Anchor Archive Zine Library is hosting the 20th annual Halifax Zine Fair on Saturday, November 2nd at the Halifax North Memorial Public Library, in K'jipuktuk, Mi’kma’ki, in the unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. Yes, it's been 20 years! - that the Zine Fair has been bringing together independent zine-makers, zine distros, bookstores, small press publishers, comic artists, print-makers, authors, and musicians from all over Mi’kma’ki and beyond to sell, trade, and show their creations.

The fee for a small table is $15 and for a large table $25 (or pay what you can). Table fees are paid at the event and help support the Anchor Archive Zine Library, a collectively-run, non-profit library that has a circulating collection of over 6,000 zines and offers zine-making tools, resources, and programming to the community. Travel stipends may be available to help zine-makers from far away participate in the fair.

To register as a vendor at the zine fair, fill out this form before September 15thhttp://anchorarchive.org/application2019

Please also invite your friends to the Facebook event

Pop-Up Zine is launching in Denver! This one-night-only show is a local, DIY version of Pop-Up Magazine, the acclaimed nationally touring “live magazine," that will similarly feature true, multimedia stories spanning film, photography, music, radio and Q&A genres.

This smaller, "Zine" version of Pop-Up Magazine will feature an all-Denver cast of performers who have prepared original, reported stories that shed light on Colorado communities in entertaining and surprising ways. They include:

Sam Brasch (radio reporter, CPR)
Elizabeth Hernandez (print reporter, The Denver Post)
Patricia Calhoun (editor-in-chief and founder, Westword)
Rachel Woolf (photographer)
Brendan Young and Hillary Thomas (videographers)
The Storytellers (a capella performers)
Brenton Weyi (poet, actor, playwright, TedX)
