If we are able to return to in-person worship you will be notified at least one week before the services begin.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
“Coffee & Contemplation” - a Zoom Gathering
Spiritual Nurture During Lent
You are invited to join Pastor Karen every Thursday morning during Lent for a time of conversation and contemplation of scripture.
Lent is a season of unfolding honesty and truth-telling about our lives and our world.
It is an intentional journey where we “step away” and make space for God. Each week we will consider a passage from scripture and explore how it speaks into our lives today.
So pour yourself a coffee (or tea) and join Karen on Zoom at 10 a.m. Thursday mornings for the next five weeks. Join in every Thursday or whenever you can. There’s always a place for you “at the table”.
Scripture passages we will consider (if you wish to read them in advance) are:
March 4th: 1 Corinthians 1: 18-25
March 11th: Ephesians 2: 1-10
March 18th: Psalm 119: 9-16
March 25th: Psalm 118: 12, 19-29
April 1st: John 13: 1-17, 31b - 35
Topic: Coffee & Contemplation
Time: Mar 4, 2021 10:00 AM Eastern Time (US and Canada)
Minute For Mission WHEN A ROOF IS MORE THAN A ROOF
When is a roof more than a roof? This isn’t a trick question. Buying a roof isn’t exciting. It isn’t particularly inspiring, either. But it is necessary, because it allows exciting, inspiring things to take place safely beneath it. Thanks to your gifts through Mission & Service, West Haven United Church Camp was able to repair the roofs of their registration and cookhouse. A roof is more than a roof when it facilitates the sharing of food, friendship and faith. This story is about how vital “core funding” is to the organizations Mission & Service supports.
