Free Assistive technology of the Week - Sonar

Sonar - Windows

Sonar is a great little utility for Windows PC’s helping users who find it hard to locate the cursor on screen by displaying a coloured circle around the pointer.

Originally designed for Windows XP and Windows 7 you will find that newer operating systems including Windows 10 will ask you to disable Aero display settings. As soon as you exit from Sonar your Aero settings are restored.

Installation is a simple run of file Sonar5Setup.exe, available from the link below

To use Sonar you can change the settings from the menu that is available from application icon in the system tray (Notification Area). You can also access settings with (CTRL + ALT + A), where you can change the shape to either a circle or a square, alter the diameter of the shape, alter the width of the line and change the color. Even if you run the application, it can be hidden and restored by clicking on Show/Hide or by using key combination CTRL+ALT+S.

This is great for anyone whose vision is not as great as it once was – including me.
