What we are up to

The European Elections' results on 26 May will decide whether the nationalists become strong enough to break the maxim of an "ever closer union." As a Europe-oriented think tank, we have been working towards strengthening European democracy for the past months – by inviting MEP candidates to a public debate, organising citizens’ dialogues far from political centres of power, and producing publications as well as a special get-out-the-vote video. To continue our progressive mission, we are looking for new team members. Feel invited to apply or spread the word.

Listening to Europe

Let’s be honest: when we discuss Europe we do so mostly within the bubble of a big city. We want to break this pattern with our travelling dialogue "Europe Listens". Instead of promoting our own ideas, we simply listened – to 190 citizens in ten places far from political centres. These conversations lead to a short film and a report capturing citizens' hopes, fears and wishes about Europe. Having analysed this feedback, the project team recommends five measures for a better dialogue on Europe (in German).
