Into thy hands, O merciful Savior, we commend thy servant Marge. Acknowledge, we humbly beseech thee, a sheep of thine own fold, a lamb of thine own flock, a sinner of thine own redeeming. Receive her into the arms of thy mercy, into the blessed rest of everlasting peace, and into the glorious company of the saints in light.

Marjorie (Howell) Rudd, 90, passed away peacefully in Mt. Vernon, Illinois at 2:50 AM April 26, 2020 in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was born December 26, 1929 to the late Richmond and Alma (Butcher) Howell in Syracuse, New York. She married Neilson Rudd on September 15, 1951 in Fayetteville, New York and they were blessed with nearly fifty years of marriage before he preceded her in death on April 4, 2001.
She is survived by her children; Thomas and Brenda (Hodges) Rudd of Ridgway, Colorado, Philip and Denise (Bourisaw) Rudd of Blue Mound, Illinois, Constance and Vincent Fry of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; brother, Richmond Howell, Jr. of Fayetteville, New York, five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three nieces; and one nephew.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marjorie is preceded in death by one grandson.
During her life, she and her husband operated Geo-Engineering Laboratories in Mt. Vernon, IL. She also assisted Neilson, an Episcopalian priest, with church administration and organization. In addition to these activities, she was an accomplished artist. She enjoyed traveling and visiting family and friends, was very active in the Daughters of the King and helping the blind.
Per her wishes, she will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice.
