Mission Accomplished

From the Guest Book
"Everyone has been so courteous and oh so kind. Thank you so much for being there in our time of need."
- The Bagby Family

"I couldn't begin to tell you all how much this experience has comforted me through this hard time in my life. Everyone here was so nice and loving. It was like being at home."
-The Powell Family

"Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity to stay here. What a blessing it is to have a home away from home. The staff here have been amazing. Barbara became a second mom to me here. Love you guys and we'll be back to visit soon."
-The Heath Family

"Thanks for allowing us to use your home like ours. I must say that the hospitality shown was amazing and the love is definitely felt. We were visiting our family friend from Brooklyn and I felt so good seeing the home she was staying in, the services offered, and the staff going beyond their duties to ensure everyone and everything was taken care of."
-The Balthazar Family

"The playroom was awesome."

Superheroes in Action

Lunch is On Us
We are thrilled to introduce a new volunteer opportunity! Volunteers can now come to the Ronald McDonald House and make lunches in our kitchen for staff to deliver to families of NICU patients at our local hospitals. These free lunches offer easy access of food to families spending long hours at their baby's hospital bedside who need nourishment to help them be their baby's support system. This program allows us to further expand our reach and provide support to any NICU family who is in need of a lunch to get them through a long day. Volunteers have enjoyed being able to participate and share their mornings with us to prepare the lunches. In such a short time, we have seen a great response from the community and are excited to continue to see the lunch program grow! For more information about how to get involved with the lunch program, please email our Volunteer Manager, Diana Villarreal at

Community Spotlight

Senior Capstone Project
Mallory Pitchford is a senior at James River High School and is enrolled in the Center for Leadership and International Relations. Through this program, Mallory was tasked with a Senior Capstone Service Project. Mallory chose Ronald McDonald House Charities of Richmond as the organization she wanted to work with to complete her project.

As a part of her project, Mallory brought a group of classmates to volunteer to make dinner for families at the Ronald McDonald House and do activities with the children.  In addition, Mallory hosted a Ronald McDonald Challenge this past December where she challenged her classmates to raise money by paying to vote for a teacher to dress up as Ronald McDonald. Mallory has also been raising money from friends and family to support RMHC and will give the proceeds to go towards making physical space improvement at the House.

Mallory said that she has enjoyed working with the Ronald McDonald House Charities on this project as it helped her understand our mission and make a direct impact on the lives of families in need. Thank you, Mallory, for all of your hard work! We appreciate your support!
