Mission Accomplished
From kitchen sets to power wheels, Christmas was delivered for families staying at Richmond's Ronald McDonald House for the third year in a row by our friends at Mason's Toy Box. Twelve families with children hospitalized over the holidays wrote letters to Santa with their Christmas wishes. Mason's Toy Box hosts an annual toy drive to grant these wishes in memory of Mason Clark Thomas who lost his battle to cancer in 2011 at age 11. They made sure each of our families, despite being away from home, had much to celebrate this holiday season. We are so grateful for this special partnership! (photography by Diane Travis)

Superheroes in Action

Kris started volunteering as a House Volunteer at RMHC in July of 2016 after retiring. Her favorite part about being at RMHC is being there for the families in different ways every week. She says that feeling like she’s contributing to something bigger than herself is really important to her. She enjoys doing fun activities with kids like reading and putting together puzzles. She likes the administrative tasks too, such as answering phones, writing thank you notes, and accepting donations on behalf of the house.

Thank you, Kris for your dedication to RMHC and for being such an integral part of serving families!

If you drove by or visited our Ronald McDonald House on Monument Avenue in December, you likely noticed our beautiful holiday decor. For the fifth year, Janice Nuckolls of Ta Da Studio, decked the halls with ribbons, garland, glitter, and a touch of whimsy. Janice's style is truly one-of-a-kind and her decorations bring such joy to our families who are away from home during the holidays. Thank you for perfectly capturing the spirit of the season for us, Janice!
