Activity: Assess Your Own Setting

Instructions

Using the theory and concepts you learned in this email’s materials, assess where you see the learning community is at your school or educational setting. Capture an artifact (e.g. interview with a student/faculty member, photograph of student work, feedback to a student, etc) that will help to present this finding.

Along with your artifact, prepare a written reflection (100-300 words) that describes why you chose the artifact to represent the current state of Learning Mindsets & Skills within your community. At the conclusion of your reflection, post a “wondering” about avenues for Learning Mindsets & Skills improvement that may be possible within your community.

Feedback (Optional)

You can grade your assignment yourself, or have a willing peer take a look. Grade your assignment based on the answer to these questions:
  • Was an artifact submitted in the form of a written transcript, video, or photograph?
  • Was a reflection (100-300 words) submitted along with the artifact?
  • Did the reflection describe how the artifact submitted was indicative of Learning Mindsets & Skills within a learning environment?
  • Try and use the following sentence for feedback: “Your wondering about Learning Mindsets & Skills within your learning environment could improve if [insert feedback here]."
