Simple. No Fuss. Just updates.
From me to you.

Friends... Welcome to my newsletter.

I've added you... somewhat without asking. I know. Ruuude. I've added you because we are friends or because we've worked together in the past. Either way, I am pretty confident you know I am a classy guy and that I'm not doing this maliciously or to be annoying.

So what's this about you ask? Well, I am under the foolish impression that I have something (interesting?) to say and I needed somewhere to put it. I have a blog (that I do not use... irony) and wanted to do something different and I decided a newsletter was just the ticket.

I mean, you're not expecting me to keep all these thoughts to myself, are you? Have you met me?

For those who are reading until the end to unsubscribe, read this first and I guarantee you'll stay with me. Let's get this started then. In this newsletter:
  1.  It'll always be about what's going on in my photography world
  2.  I'll send something only when there's an interesting update.
  3.  I think you'll be relieved to know that I'm not selling anything
  4.  This is really so that we can stay in touch
  5.  It'll be inconsistent in quality and frequency ... at best.
Today, we'll start with just the A,B,C...

A cool thing I did:
You guys know me, I like people and I am interested in working with people. I am interested in sub-cultures and how people create and maintain their identities but above all, I am interested in stories. So, what must have been a couple weeks ago now, I went and did something that really intrigued me: I went and photographed a wrestling event. It was nothing short of a blast and when it comes to storytelling, nobody beats the "soapiness storytelling" of wrestling. In conclusion: I want to know more about this culture. Be prepared to see some more in the future. Here are the photos... in form of a 2:30ish photo film.

Bragging time:
I won another award (Best in Weddings) for one of my photos. Noice!
it happened 2 or 3 weeks ago now but I am still really pleased that I beat the other images I was competing against. The judges got what I was trying to go for and for that I am thankful. While second shooting at a wedding, I was fortunate to turn around and see the groom and bride about to kiss while they were waiting for their papers to be processed at city hall downtown San Diego. I raised my camera, grabbed the shot instantly, hoping it was sharp and focused. I had 1 opportunity and I got it. I Hope you like it.

A review:
I received a very nice review of late for a very intimate and private wedding I shot recently. The bride wrote this about me and my business. Here it is:

"Antoine was referred to us and I'm so grateful! His work is truly "real". I wanted candid shots, black and white (and color) and that's what we got. Most times I didn't even know he was there! I look at the photos now and wonder why I didn't see him aiming! We were in a beautiful setting and although many of the backgrounds are amazing its more about the subject; the people in the photos. Antoine is creative and you see this throughout his work...I love it! Saturday I viewed a slideshow on my TV all day and listened to music...what a joy to watch again and again and relive our special day; our wedding!
Thank you, Antoine!"

I mean, pretty nice, right?

That's it for today. Not too painful, right?
